Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm advises on Ukrainian law

Under an agreement with the leading international law firm White & Case, Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm has provided legal assistance to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance in the process of negotiating and signing agreements under which the Government of Ukraine has provided its sovereign guarantee for a loan of 261m dollars granted by South Korea’s Eximbank to the Ukrainian territorial railway branch company Pivdenna Zaliznytsya [Southern Railway].

In the context of their cooperation, the Government of South Korea and the Government of Ukraine reached an agreement on the financing to be provided by South Korea’s Eximbank to purchase 10 Hyundai-built high-speed trains to arrange movements of Euro-2012 guests between the main Ukrainian cities, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, and the capital city Kiev.

During the Ukrainian-Korean negotiations, Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners, Iryna Marushko, advised on matters relating to Ukrainian law. The interests of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance in the context of English law were represented by the international law firm White & Case.

Six high-speed trains are expected to be put into service by 2012. They will cover the distance from Kyiv to Kharkiv in 3.5 hours, from Kyiv to Lviv in 4.5 hours, and from Kyiv to Donetsk in 5.5-6 hours.
