Firm’s Senior Associate Roman Blazhko and Associate Dmytro Savchuk conducted on 26 September 2013 at the American Chamber of Commerce a Knowledge Seminar: “Control Exercised by Tax Authorities: from Informational Requests to Challenging Tax Assessments”.

Roman and Dmytro shared their extensive knowledge in protection of the taxpayers’ rights during the audit. They highlighted the latest judicial practice in the “fake nature” deals, bringing practical advice as to the challenging tax assessments and other actions/decisions of Tax Authorities.

Roman Blazhko is an experienced lecturer and author of over 50 publications about taxation. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association. Dmytro Savchuk actively cooperates with the tax committees of the American Chamber of Commerce and the European Business Association.

Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm acted as a legal advisor on Ukrainian Law issues in connection with US$ 750 million loan provided by Sberbank of Russia to the Government of Ukraine.

On September 19-22, 2013 at the Livadia Palace, Yalta, more than 200 leaders from politics, business and society representing more than 20 countries discussed major global challenges and their impact on Europe, Ukraine and the world.

The forum’s discussions were focused on the future of the global economy. Special attention was given to the role of innovation and leadership in transforming the economy and society.

Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm in cooperation with The Kyiv Post organized a special roundtable discussion on “Protecting Business in Ukraine: Challenges of 2014” on September 17 in Kyiv.

Managing Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm Maksym Lavrynovych delivered a speech on “Combatting illegal TV content online” at the conference “Television as Business” on September 12, 2013 in Kyiv.

Maksym Lavrynovych focused on the problems of illegal TV content online, the perspectives of fighting against piracy, as well as current legislation and ways to protect IP rights.

Conference “Television as Business” is an annual meeting of television industry. Leading TV-brands, media experts and investors are talking about current content, finances, management and new media technologies.

Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm in cooperation with the UBA’s Students League announce the opening of the III Scholarship Contest in corporate law. The acceptance of essays will start on September 30.

The theme of the contest is “Transactions of interest and significant transactions in Joint Stock Companies of Ukraine”. The essay submission procedure will last until October 28. The winners will be announced in November.

The contest essay should be accompanied with a completed participant application form to be sent to the organizing committee of the contest at competition@ligauba.org.ua, as well as his/her research supervisor’s review.

Only unpublished individual essays in English or Ukrainian will be considered.

Andriy Moroz has worked for Lavrynovych & Partners since 2007. Andriy is a qualified and experienced lawyer in mergers and acquisitions, including those with the participation of investment funds, and in competition and antitrust law. He has significant experience in developing a line of judicial defense in corporate disputes, exercising remedies, taking advance measures, and representing Сlients’ interests in the Ukrainian courts of all levels. Among the Clients to whom Andriy has provided legal support are Kyivstar, Vaderstad, VS Energy International, Belhrancorm-Poltavshchyna, WESTA ISIC, and Ukragroalliance.

Andriy Moroz graduated from Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, and holds a Master of Laws degree. Andriy is a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association.
