Ukrainian Investment Summit – is a meeting place for the best representatives of the business
Managing Partner of Lavrynovych and Partners Law Firm Maksym Lavrynovych will take part in the annual Ukrainian Investment Summit.
The summit will be held on May 17-19, 2010, in Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel, London.

Lavrynovych & Partners law firm successfully represented Ukrainian Securities Depository JSC before the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
Lavrynovych and Partners law firm successfully represented Ukrainian Securities Depository JSC and its founders before the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine during the investigation. As a result of the case considered by the Committee the permit for establishment of the Depository was obtained on 18 March 2010.
«The mechanism of establishment of prices for the depositor’s services was elaborated by Ukrainian Securities Depository and the Committee and corresponds with the expectations of the securities market. Ukrainian Securities Depository plays the leading role in the process of development of the national securities market infrastructure» – noted Konstantin Pilkov, Associate Partner at Lavrynovych and Partners law firm, during the final hearing of the Committee.
Ukrainian Securities Depository was established in 2008 by 22 major players of the financial market of Ukraine, among which National Bank of Ukraine, 19 commercial banks and 2 stock exchanges.
Lavrynovych and Partners Law Firm has provided legal assistance to Ukrenergo
On March 24, 2010, the lawyers of Lavrynovych and Partners Law Firm successfully completed the case of Ukrenergo v. Specialized State Tax Inspection in Kyiv to work with large taxpayers.
The court decided to satisfy the claim of Ukrenergo and to revoke the tax notification-decision for a total amount of UAH 7,195,646.

VI Annual Legal Forum – Legal Services Development in Ukraine-2010, organized by Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), was held in Radisson SAS Hotel on February 26, 2010. Maksym Lavrynovych, Managing Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm, made a report on «Outcomes-09. Tendencies-10. Frankly about the legal market».

Managing Partner Maksym Lavrynovych represents Ukraine at the World Economic Forum in Davos
27 January, 2010, Davos, Switzerland. Maksym Lavrynovych, Managing Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners law firm was part of Ukraine’s delegation at the 40th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting which was held in Davos. During the course of the event Maksym Lavrynovych attended the Sixth Annual Ukrainian Lunch-Conference “Quo Vadis, Ukrainie?” which was held courtesy of the Viktor Pinchuk’s Foundation. The discussions at this lunch-conference were meant to familiarize business leaders and policy makers from around the world with the latest trends and developments in Ukraine.
The main theme of the 40th World Economic Forum is to “Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild”. Of 2500 participants at the Annual Meeting, more than half represent the business sector: Industry, Energy, Finance, Information Technologies, Electronics & Telecommunications, Health Care, Mass Media, and other.
As a part of Lavrynovych and Partners pro bono program «Protection of Small and Medium Business» the lawyers of the firm advised private entrepreneur O. Pechenyuk who was unlawfully surcharged by the State Tax Inspectorate in Desnyanskyy District (Kyiv) with the financial fine in amount of UAH 443,387. The unlawful decision of the tax body was successfully appealed to the State Tax Administration of Kyiv that issued its order on cancellation of the challenged decision on January 13, 2010.

Iryna Marushko was elected as the Chairman of the UBA committee of the banking and finance law
On 28 December, 2009, upon the results of e-voting, Partner of Lavrynovych and Partners Law Firm Iryna Marushko took a position of the Chairman of the Committee of the banking and finance law. Senior Associate Anton Lukovkin was elected as her deputy.
Lavrynovych & Partners celebrates its 5th anniversary
11th December 2009, Kyiv, Lavrynovych & Partners Law firm celebrated its fifth anniversary in the Sofiyivskiy Grand Hall, Premier Palace Hotel. The celebration consisted of two parts, each was full of pleasant surprises for invited guests.

Hungarian Telecom obtaines the merger clearance from the AMCU
On October 28, 2009, Hungarian Telecom Cooperatief U.A. (Netherlands) was granted with the consent to the purchase of the shares in Invitel Holdings A/S (Denmark) which results in obtaining more than 50% votes in the highest governance body of Invitel Holdings A/S (Denmark).
The group of companies controlled by Invitel Holdings A/S is presented on the Ukrainian market of data transmission services and leasing network capacities.The amount of the deal is more than USD 10 million.
