In the context of its cooperation with the Ukrainian vegetable oil producing holding company Allseeds Group, Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm has been appointed the Group’s main legal adviser.

Allseeds Group is the third largest crude sunflower oil producer in Ukraine. It accounts for 25-27% of Ukraine’s total sunflower oil exports. The Group consists of two processing plants, a vegetable oil transshipment terminal (Mykolayiv), and 16 storage facilities with a total capacity of 600,000 tones.

A legal services agreement between Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm and JTI International Company Ukraine, a closed joint stock company, was signed in Kyiv on 14 December 2010.
Lavrynovych & Partners will provide JTI with professional advice on doing business in Ukraine and will represent the interests of JTI in court.

Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm advises on Ukrainian law
Under an agreement with the leading international law firm White & Case, Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm has provided legal assistance to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance in the process of negotiating and signing agreements under which the Government of Ukraine has provided its sovereign guarantee for a loan of 261m dollars granted by South Korea’s Eximbank to the Ukrainian territorial railway branch company Pivdenna Zaliznytsya [Southern Railway].
In the context of their cooperation, the Government of South Korea and the Government of Ukraine reached an agreement on the financing to be provided by South Korea’s Eximbank to purchase 10 Hyundai-built high-speed trains to arrange movements of Euro-2012 guests between the main Ukrainian cities, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, and the capital city Kiev.
During the Ukrainian-Korean negotiations, Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners, Iryna Marushko, advised on matters relating to Ukrainian law. The interests of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance in the context of English law were represented by the international law firm White & Case.
Six high-speed trains are expected to be put into service by 2012. They will cover the distance from Kyiv to Kharkiv in 3.5 hours, from Kyiv to Lviv in 4.5 hours, and from Kyiv to Donetsk in 5.5-6 hours.

The Third Annual Legal Conference “Mergers & Acquisitions in Ukraine”, organized by Conference House with the support of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), was held at the Radisson BLU Hotel in Kyiv on 25 November 2010.
The conference was attended by owners and heads of business companies, CFOs, representatives of legal and investment companies, top managers of commercial and investment banks.

The Third Annual IFA Ukraine International Tax Conference was held in Kyiv on 18 November 2010. Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm was a partner of this conference. IFA Ukraine’s Third Annual International Tax Conference is the only event of this kind in Ukraine for tax professionals and policymakers interested in the latest trends and developments in the area of international taxation practice and regulation in Ukraine.
