Iryna Marushko, Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm, and Senior Associate Olena Zubchenko took part in Adam Smith Conferences’ 4th Annual Forum «Agribusiness in Ukraine» held in Kyiv on March 13-15.

The following issues were discussed at the Forum: working with banks and financial institutions when raising finance, the current trends on the international capital markets, preparing for IPO, the current status of land reform, the latest legislative and regulatory developments in the agrarian sector, etc. Among the speakers at the Forum was Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Minister for Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, NBU Council Chairman, Oleg Bakhmatyuk, Main Shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Avangard agricultural holding, Iryna Poplavska, Co-founder and CEO of Agroliga Group Plc.

Igor Siusel, Associated Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm, took part in the International Conference entitled “International Dispute Resolution Involving Russian and CIS Countries”, which was held in London on February 23-24.

At the conference, which brought together in-house lawyers, legal advisors, advocates and representatives of the community of judges from different countries, leading practitioners shared their most recent experience of resolving disputes in litigation and arbitration proceedings. In particular, the meeting included a discussion on jurisdictional issues in investment arbitration, detection of corruption in international arbitration proceedings, use of interim relief in different jurisdictions and arbitrability of corporate disputes. Among the moderators of the discussion was Igor Tsibelman, Legal Counsel of Gazprom Neft, and Boris Korabelnikov, Professor of the Russian Academy of National Economy and State Service under the President of the Russian Federation, Judge of Administrative Tribunal of EBRD, member of the Court of LCIA.

The Congress included a discussion of the global macro-economic outlook for 2012-2015 and problematic issues of banking regulation, as well as transactions with distressed assets in Ukraine and factoring.
