March 12, 2013 Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm in partnership with Forbes Ukraine gathered owners and top-managers of Ukrainian banks at the “Banking M&A: guide for owner” Conference to discuss mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector of Ukraine.
Maksym Lavrynovych, the Firm’s Managing Partner, moderated the first panel dedicated to the prospects of the Ukrainian banking market, as well as to M&A practice lessons.
During the discussion top-managers of the major banks shared their best practice on how to integrate acquired assets, including with regard to financial, tax and legal implications.
The Firm’s Senior Associate Anna Pushkariova opened the second panel, focused on the risks and limitations relevant to banking M&A transactions in Ukraine. Anna outlined the regulatory aspects of transactions with banks’ shares and possible issues for the buyer, and gave practical advice on how to minimize the risks when planning and performing such transactions.
