The reward ceremony for winners of the Third Scholarship Contest in the field of corporate law took place on November 29th. The scholarship is established by Lavrynovych & Partners in cooperation with the Students League of Ukrainian Bar Association.
First place went to Nataliia Murashko, a student of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. Second place went to Denys Siiushov, a student of the National University «Odesa Law Academy». Third place went to Illya Chernogorenko, a student of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. А special prize for the best article in Ukrainian language was received by Mark Sosulia, a student of the National University «Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine».
The prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners by Iryna Marushko, Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners, who also gave presents to the authors of the top ten selected studies.
The contest was aimed at the professional development of students, promotion of research in the area of corporate law. The theme of the contest was “Transactions of interest and significant transactions in Joint Stock Companies of Ukraine”. Entries were submitted from 30 September till 28 October 2013.
The contest involved 46 law students from 17 universities in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Chernivtsi. The judging panel of the contest, who analyzed the papers submitted, included Iryna Marushko, Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners; Ph.D. Volodymyr Bobryk, Head of the Scientific Department at The Scientific Research Institute of Private Law and Business of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; the Board of the Students League of Ukrainian Bar Association.
