Opening of the International Fiscal Association’s Ukrainian branch

The first constituent meeting of the International Fiscal Association’s Ukrainian branch (IFA Ukraine) recently took place in Kyiv. The IFA in Ukraine has been established with the support of both Magister & Partners attorneys-at-law and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Lavrynovych & Partners law firm was one of the first who was affiliated in IFA.

IFA Ukraine will aim to develop and introduce the best world standards of taxation in Ukraine. Through this organization tax professionals will be able to develop their professional skills and qualification.

Participants of the meeting held at the Riviera Hotel also discussed membership issues and plans for further IFA activities in Ukraine.  It was agreed that the IFA’s Ukraine branch would offer both individual and corporate membership options.  More than 21 membership applications have already been received.  The International Fiscal Association was represented at the meeting by Irina Rusakova, Chair Russian IFA Branch and Senior Tax Manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Russia.

Official registration of IFA Ukraine took place during the IFA Annual Congress in Kyoto, Japan on September 30 – October 4. Maksym Lavrynovych, Managing Partner, represented the Firm on the 61st annual Congress of the International Fiscal Association in Kyoto.

The International Fiscal Association (IFA) was established in 1938 with its headquarters in the Netherlands. It is the only non-governmental and non-sectoral international organisation dealing with fiscal matters. Membership of IFA now stands at nearly 11,500 from 92 countries. Ukraine will become the 53rd country where IFA members have established IFA branches.
